01Challenge
What we were asked to solve.
Indian accountants spend disproportionate time reconciling bank statements against Tally ledgers by hand. Mismatches between cleared amounts, posted dates, and narration formats turn what should be a daily task into a quarterly fire drill.
02Approach
How the studio took it on.
A Next.js app talks to Tally's ODBC endpoint, normalises both ledger and statement records into a common shape, and runs a fuzzy matcher tuned for Indian banking narration. Discrepancies are flagged with explanations rather than just diffs — useful when the accountant has to action them. Reports export back to formats the rest of the firm already uses.
